Crimean Bridge set-out was opened in GUM
An interactive exhibition "Crimean Bridge" dedicated to the longest (19 km) high-tech bridge in Russia, which is now being built across the Kerch Strait, was opened at the 3rd GUM line.
The future bridge can be touched as construction materials like extra-strong bolts of arched navigable spans, fragments of armored frame and steel tubular pile, a sample of the first asphalt were brought from Tuzla Island to the center of Moscow.
GUM visitors to can also fly in helicopter cabin over the Crimean bridge in virtual reality glasses and even play ping pong in a pipe resembling a bridge pile. Or make selfie in builder’s outfit on a board of the yacht against the background of the arches of the Crimean bridge and on the bench with the official logo of the project.
The historical part of the display tells about the timlinr of the linking-up of the two coasts of the Kerch Strait from the time of Prince Gleb to our days and various stages of the construction of the Crimean bridge. Its main archaeological value is a fragment of a terracotta sculpture in the shape of a man's head, presumably of the V century BC. E. Parts of shells of the Great Patriotic War, found in the area of the construction of the Crimean bridge, rare archival documents and photographs of the construction of the German cable way in 1943 and the construction of the bridge by Soviet soldiers after the liberation of the Crimea are in the windows.
The exhibition runs in GUM until September. The information is also translated into Chinese and English.
