The art, literature and cultural heritage of the Land of the Rising Sun were embodied in the writing instrument Homage to Kyoto Artistry Limited Edition 55, created by Montblanc in conjunction with the legendary Chiso Company, established over 460 years ago.
The writing instruments of Homage to Kyoto Artistry Limited Edition 55 are decorated with a specially designed kimono pattern: two scenes from The Tale of Genji, a mysterious novel written in about 1000 by a court lady are depicted here.
The cap of golden champagne color is decorated with an image of the palace and the bird made in the new processing technique. The imperial wagons can be seen on the body of 925 sterling silver. The particular refinement is achieved by decorative elements of solid gold, which are about spring sakura flowers and autumn leaves.
The writing instrument Montblanc Homage to Kyoto Artistry Limited Edition 55 is packed into a refined case, finished with silk and hand-painted by Chiso craftsmen.
Only 55 similar pens are produced: this is the reference to the figure 1555 - the year of the Chiso Company establishment.
