On June 1, GUM celebrated Ice Cream Day. This wonderful tradition was born in 2013, when the 120th anniversary of the Main Department Store was celebrated, and eventually turned into a charity event. This year, the funds collected on this day fr om the sale of ice cream will be transferred to the Galchonok fund, which helps children with organic lesions of the central nervous system.
Ice cream is as much a symbol of the Main Department Store as the famous fountain. GUM glasses and popsicles have long been recognized all over the world as one of the main delicacies of our capital. Many people come to GUM specifically to eat “the same” ice cream: delicate ice cream, favorite creme brulee, fragrant melon, bright blueberry, refreshing blackcurrant, summer pistachio, sweet strawberry, pistachio or “with chocolate chips”, popular among gourmets, the famous popsicle in rustling foil.
On International Children's Day, any portion of the famous delicacy cost 50 rubles, and it was sold by famous musicians, actors, singers, TV presenters, beloved by all athletes. There was a huge queue to receive ice cream from the hands of celebrities and take pictures with them as a keepsake. But no one left without ice cream!

The holiday was opened by the trustees of the Galchonok Foundation Marina Alexandrova, Ilya Bachurin and Alisa Grebenshchikova, who, having knitted branded aprons and put on straw hats, were the first to turn into real ice cream workers.

It is not very pleasant to be a part of the Boso team and today, on Children's Day, to be here in GUM, selling ice cream and seeing the happy faces of children. It's so important that they smile. And this makes us happy, especially since the proceeds from the sale of ice cream today will go to the wonderful Galchonok Foundation, of which I am a friend and trustee. Many of the participants of the charity event went behind the counter for the first time, but they got used to it very quickly. Everyone enjoyed: both star sellers and buyers! The event was attended by Alexander Kibovsky, Head of the Department of Culture of the City of Moscow, who stood behind the ice cream counter together with Mikhail Kusnirovich, President of the Bosco di Ciliegi group of companies.
