Dynamo: one hundred percent! Large-scale exhibition for the anniversary of the football club
On April 18, Dynamo football club, one of the oldest in Russia, turned 100 years old. This is a significant event not only for everyone who identifies themselves with the blue and white colors, but also for a huge number of fans and sports enthusiasts. For this anniversary, GUM opened an exhibition dedicated to the history and modernity of Dynamo.
The main idea of the project is expressed in the motto “Strength is in motion”, because in translation from ancient Greek the name of the club is translated as “strength”. The continuous history of the development of Dynamo is 100 years of striving forward, towards new achievements. The exhibition has become a replica of this direct line: the exposition is presented in the form of a time line reflecting the most important events in the life of the club.
The dive begins right at the entrance to GUM: visitors enter the Dynamo tunnel, decorated with an installation with a recognizable white rhombus with the letter “D”, the symbol of the organization, which was approved in 1926. The exhibition presents rare archival footage of football players and fans from different eras, rare items of equipment of legends in traditional white and blue colors, as well as the main awards of the team: the USSR and Russian Cups and other trophies. After all, Dynamo Moscow is the first Soviet football club that managed to reach the Eurocup final and the first champion of the Soviet Union.
A model of the VTB Arena stadium, the only sports facility in the world that combines a football stadium, a multifunctional arena and a shopping center under one roof, was specially brought to the exhibition. It was at the former Dynamo stadium that the first match in the USSR was held, which was broadcast live. Another interesting exhibit is the famous car of Lev Yashin, who was the owner of the first Mazda in the USSR.
Another significant event that took place on April 18 in GUM was timed to coincide with the centenary of Dynamo Moscow – the opening of a new flagship store in GUM. The ribbon was cut by the club's general director Pavel Pivovarov and the head of the Bosco di Ciliegi group of companies, a member of the Club's advisory board, Mikhail Kusnirovich, cut at exactly 19:23 Moscow time - the numbers symbolize the year the Dynamo society was founded.
The Dynamo Store, located on the 1st line of GUM, presents numerous collections of Dynamo equipment and paraphernalia, souvenirs, fresh collaborations with fashionable Russian and foreign brands, including those specially designed for the centenary of the club.
