Marina Rinaldi launches a special project Pre-Fall 2018, inspired by the great architect Ettore Sottsass.
Rich geometry, bright shades, flashes of white & super-graphic black – that is the starting point for Pre-Fall 2018 Marina Rinaldi, a selection of styles inspired by the bright creative spirit of Ettore Sottsass. The mood of the collection is set by the Memphis group from the 80's, a team founded by the architect, designer and photographer Sottsass, together with a group of internationally known colleagues including Hans Hollein, Andrea Branzi, Michele de Lucca and Arata Isodzaki. The movement born as an answer to the faceless minimalism of the 70's, created catchy aesthetic consisting of bright colors, super-energy patterns and unexpected shapes.
This very experimental and optimistic pressure inspired Marina Rinaldi to create the looks that made up the Pre-Fall 2018 collection. The lines are flowing, with softened outlines and emphasized shoulder pads. Midi skirts are combined with cocoon jackets, light bombers, knitwear or cropped trousers, which wrap the body.
The spirit of the collection, paying tribute to Sottsass, goes well with the FW capsule 2018/2019, created by Fausto Pulizi for Marina Rinaldi and reflecting the explosive power of the designer's ideas.
