Friendly match featuring NHL stars as well as Russian actors, sportsmen & musicians was held at GUM-Skating rink
Friendly match was held at GUM Skating Ring at Red Square on February 20th. NHL stars of the North American hockey team "Philadelphia Flyers" competed on ice with the well-known Russian sportsmen, musicians & actors. “Philadelphia Flyers” captain, two-time winner of the Stanley Cup, the legendary hockey player Joe Watson arrived to Moscow for the first time to take part in the match.
The game was incredibly hot despite the light frost: none of the parties wanted to give in. Many goals were scored. There was even penalty shootout, which caused thunderous applause of the guests, who gathered at the viewing point. Eventually, the match ended with the friendly score of 15 – 15.
