If you would like to find out about fashionable underwear of the 1970s, dramatic lace of the 1990s and Jean Paul Gaultier’s innovations for La Perla, visit the exclusive retrospective exhibition of the sumptuous lingerie brand at La Perla Boutique, GUM.
The guests will be awed by the display of 24 vintage garments, encompassing the very first creations of Ada Masotti, the founder of La Perla, as well as items fr om the latest collections. There are not enough great words to express one’s feelings about La Perla lingerie.
All of the showpieces were delivered from Bologna wh ere Ada Masotti established her brand decades ago. Ada earned the moniker “golden scissors” for her special gift in tailoring and combining fabrics of different patterns. La Perla became the talk of the town in the 1970s, when Ada invented the revolutionary body, as light as a feather, that became a perfect accompaniment to slim fit dresses. The rebel glamour of the 1990s inspired La Perla to release another innovative item – the body made from elastic Leavers lace. It can be worn as a separate piece of outwear, without a blouse. This piece will also be showcased at the retrospective.
In 2004, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, La Perla released a limited collection encapsulating opulence and Italian quality. The exclusive Chantilly lace was created for the brand on 19th century looms in Caudry, Northern France. These amazing garments are also a part of our exhibition.
The collaboration of La Perla with the “enfant terrible” of fashion Jean Paul Gaultier resulted in the creation of perfect masterpieces. Just one example – the cone bra, one of the most memorable looks for Madonna.
Throughout its history, La Perla created items characterized by the balance of sartorial elegance and up-to-date authenticity. Discover the corsets of the ‘60s, the innovations of the ‘70s and ‘80s, the exclusive glamourous collections of the ‘90s and ‘00s!
See you soon at La Perla, GUM on December 22 and 23, 2018!
