Manolo Blahnik fall collection 2018 is about several themes, embodied in the legendary shoes, ankle boots, flats and other models of footwear of the upcoming season. But it’s all about women for sure!
Manolo Blanik praises femininity, which is embodied in gestures & pace of his muse – a woman, who creates her everyday look using the variety of fashion tools.
The designer studied the old shots of the British actress and model Jean Shrimpton, the icon of the boiling London of the 1960s, while working over the fall 2018 collection. Jean Shrimpton is considered one of the first supermodels in the world, and most of the shots were taken by the friend of Manolo Blanik, the iconic photographer David Bailey.
The footwear that Jean used to wear was in tune with the rebellious era, causing nostalgia for the feeling of the carefree freedom of the spirit. That is why Manolo Blanik came up with the idea of creating a line of shoes that could fit the legendary model even today: weightless flats and patent leather ankle boots on kitten heel are characteristic of the style of the sixties. High boots on the classic low square heel are also in the spotlight.
The image of Diana Vriland, the instructor of the young Manolo Blanik, widely known for her exquisite taste and courage in the choice of jewelry, inspired Vree model with a T-strap.
The collection will be on sale in mid-August. See you at Manolo Blahnik in GUM!
