On September 7th, the Russian State Library hosted the sociocultural event that united fashion and reading. The legendary Italian designer Ermanno Scervino arrived to Moscow and presented his FW collection 2018/2019 at the famous marble staircase of the library. Well-known Russian writers, media persons and business representatives became the guests of the event.
For the first time, the famous Leninka acted as the venue uniting fashion & the art of the word: the works of design thought merged with the works of modern literature, opening the treasures of the world's largest library for the fashionable public, recalling the syncretism of art.
The show was held on the marble staircase of the main building of the library, an architectural monument of federal significance, a masterpiece of post-constructivism, made of the rarest marble and wood. The works of design thought, created in Italy, the homeland of beauty and taste, undoubtedly meet the criterion of authenticity as well. The guests of the event had an opportunity to appreciate the looks of the Ermanno Scervino FW collection, which had previously been shown only within the Milan Fashion Week. The virtuoso fusion of opposites of the collection is in tune with the offbeat venue of the show. Woolen military style coats and bright down jackets are proposed to be coupled with feminine dresses of silk, satin or crepe. Timelessly urgent checks, borrowed from the men's wardrobe, are about the tricks of the light, to make it more delicate.
Preparation for the show was held in one of the reading rooms of the Library, which inspired all the participants in the process. ESTEL top stylists & M.A.C make-up artists were responsible for the hairstyles & professional make-up of the models.
After the show, the guests moved to the legendary reading room No. 3. The evening was continued by electronic live of the young pianist and composer Nikola Melnikov and the performance of the talented jazz singer Anna Kova, the daughter of Vladimir and Sati Spivakov.
The Library of the Chereshnevy Les worked within the event. It is the temporary exposition of literary works published with the support or within the Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les. An autograph session of the authors of some of the presented books was held for the guests.
The arrival of the designer and the show of the fashion house coincided with another important date - 15 years of the successful cooperation of Bosco di Ciliegi and Ermanno Scervino and the development of the sophisticated Italian fashion in Russia.
