Manolo Blahnik Cruise Collection
While working over his cruise collection, Manolo Blahnik was inspired by the Russian fashion of the 18th century. He turned to the epic of Ancient Greece and the cultural phenomena of Europe of the late Middle Ages as well.

While working over his cruise collection, Manolo Blahnik was inspired by the Russian fashion of the 18th century. He turned to the epic of Ancient Greece and the cultural phenomena of Europe of the late Middle Ages as well. This time, the tendencies of modernity are reflected through the prism of creativity of Sean Scully, the American artist who works in the style of geometric abstraction. The characteristic African patterns and decorations, embodied in the line of bright footwear, is another theme.

Russia.
In the 18th century, Russia was ruled by the Empress Elizabeth, known for her penchant for fashion and extravagant apparels. It was to her that Manolo Blanik dedicated models, decorated with “royal” ruffles and braids, characteristic of the dresses of that era.

Europe of the Late Middle Ages.
The bright clothing of the winged hussars from Poland and Hungary of the 15th century is reflected in the design of the MARINOV model, ankle boots of soft black suede with a mustard-colored lacing trim. Tartan gave a new sounding to the classic BB and MAYSALE models this season.
Ancient Greece.
Ouroboros is a serpent eating its own tail. This ancient symbol of eternity, infinity and the cyclical nature of life is embodied in a number of models of the cruise collection.

Artist Sean Scully.
The work of an abstract artist and one of his landmark works Landline Blue is about the linear geometry of blue shades, which is reminiscent of the evening sky or the sea at sunset in its layering. The same melancholic print is embodied in a series of ankle boots and shoes BARASHKOV, LONOV & TRETYAFLAT.

Africa.
Africa is the designer’s favorite continent. Manolo Blahnik made many trips to the hot African countries and comes back again & again to this topic in his creative work.

Look forward to seeing at Manolo Blahnik in GUM!
