The legendary Gastronome #1 launched its annual exhibition on September 18. The event will run until October 13.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by Dmitry Zubov, Chairman of the Central Union of Consumer Societies (Centrosoyuz) of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Artamonov, Governor of Kaluga Oblast, Vladislav Tretiak, Elena Perminova, Alexei and Galina Nemov, Ilya Bachurin, Egor Druzhinin, Ingrid Olerinskaya, Anastasia Ukolova.
The key event of the Exhibition of Agricultural Achievements this year is the Festival of Regional Brands – a joint project of Centrosoyuz and GUM. By the fountain, representatives of GUM and Centrosoyuz signed an agreement on cooperation. The international bread-making forum will open in Kaluga on September 19; GUM will be proudly representing Russian producers at the Forum.
Within the program of the Forum at the Ethnomir Park, Gastronome No. 1 will present its best produce prepared according to signature recipes. Visitors will savor the freshest pastries and baked goods: curd tarts, bread rolls, bagels — you can try them at our big tent at the Fair. Gastronome will also bring to Kaluga its signature brand products: tea, coffee, confectionery, ice cream, juices, lemonade, farm meat delicacies, cheeses, and dairy products (co-production with Centrosoyuz).
Dmitry Zubov, Chairman of the Centrosoyuz: It is my pleasure to be at GUM today. Unfortunately, I do not have much time to walk around this wonderful store. And it is especially lovely to see here today the supreme quality produce delivered by Russian farmers. Today's event is preceded by a large forum, which we hold on the hospitable Kaluga land in the Ethnomir park-museum together with the Governor of the region. We are expecting delegations fr om 36 countries of the world and all regions of Russia. Not only food but also folk crafts will be displayed at the Forum. GUM will be presenting a fascinating exhibition; we do a lot of exhibitions, one of them will be called Russian Regional Brands. And today we will sign an agreement with GUM so that the products of the best regional brands of our country will be presented here. People who come to GUM can be sure that the products offered in Gastronome No.1 meet all the criteria of the highest quality. Centrosoyuz will take care of the selection of these products.
Visit Line 3 of GUM to enjoy all the new harvest has to offer. Thirty-four participants will present the most exceptional farm produce: milk products, cheese, meat, sausages, smoked fish, vegetables, fruit, honey, and so much more! All the products are eco-friendly and organic. They originate from different regions of Russia: Siberia, Saratov, Yaroslavl Oblast, Moscow Oblast, Novorossiysk, Saint Petersburg, Bashkortostan, Novosibirsk, and the Russian Far East.
Anatoly Artamonov, Governor of the Kaluga Oblast: I am glad to see how much attention is paid to our agricultural producers. And it is no coincidence that more and more Russians every year prefer our Russian products. After walking along the GUM line, wh ere the tents of the participants are exhibited, we saw that all of their products are of high quality, well-designed. Today, the government of our country came up with many different incentives to make it profitable to work on the land. It is no coincidence that this is the reason why our agriculture is developing at a much more intense pace than other industries.
This year Russian winemakers are also featured at the expo. Guests will be able to take part in masterclasses by professional sommeliers, meetings with winemakers, and tastings. Your favorite wine is already available at Gastronome #1. The list of participating winemakers includes the famous Abrau-Durso, Golubytskoye Estate specializing on 7 European grapes, AlmaValley from Crimea, Gai-Kodzor from Krasnodar Krai, Sober-Bash presenting the best wines of Caucasus.
Traditionally, the expo is also a platform for the best farmers. The newcomers include the Land of the Salmon Co. specializing in fish from the Far East, the Got Meat! Craft Smoke House with its brand braised brisket, Shepherd from Abrau Dairy with bryndza, ricotta, mozzarella, and scamorza, TRAWA with its fine oils, and Flax & Buckwheat Bakery by Elena Perminova with its green buckwheat pastries.
Elena Perminova: We are participating in the Exhibition of Agricultural Achievements for the first time this year, it's fun! And today, here, in addition to the already well-known products of our Flax and Buckwheat Bakery we present our exclusive products: charlotte cake, waffles, pastillises that were created specifically for this event. Vladislav Tretiak: Well done, GUM! GUM is my youth; I remember how I would be spending the whole day while my mother was standing in queues. And for the coveted ice cream, I was ready to sit here all day. So, when I come to GUM, it's like returning to school, it brings a lot of childhood memories.
