Movie Club with Katerina Krupnova. The Graduate
The theme of the movie club with Katerina Krupnova that will take place on November 13 at GUM Cinema is fashion and clothes. The subject is The Graduate.
Mike Nichols' 1967 comedy entered the 100 best films by the American Film Institute. It was a milestone in the history of American cinema and one of the most significant films of the new Hollywood. The movie made young Dustin Hoffman a star, the actor in his 30s was incredibly persuasive in the role of the 21-year-old Ben Braddock, a college graduate seduced by the wife of one of his father's business partners, brilliantly played by Anne Bancroft. The name Mrs. Robinson – an attractive mature woman who decides to use her sexual charms on an inexperienced young man – became a common used reference.
Mrs. Robinson's spectacular cougar outfits with animalistic prints demonstrate her dominant nature; the leopard coat became one of the most iconic pieces of clothing in the history of American cinema.
Ekaterina Krupnova, film and fashion expert, co-founder and co-author of the CineModa project, works with CinemaSearch, InStyle, BluePrint, and gives lectures at different venues in Moscow. She is the author and stylist of the #star_look project.
Guests gather for a light buffet with champagne at 19:30, the beginning of the movie club session is at 20:00. Tickets (1000 rubles) can be purchased via the site or at the GUM Cinema ticket office.
See you at the movies!
