Pure art. Introducing a new limited collection of Louis Vuitton handbags and accessories
Shopping as a trip to museum: the famous American artist Jeff Koons and Louis Vuitton presented the collection of accessories "Masters", inspired by the legendary works of the great artisans like Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Rubens Fragonard and Van Gogh. The limited series is already available for pre-order in GUM, and is to be on sale starting from the end of April.
The "kitsch wizard" used images from his Gazing Ball series, featuring the reproductions of the works of the old artists by adding blue spheres to them. Louis Vuitton print by Jeff Koons is on handbags and backpacks including the Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull models, which are also decorated with over-sized metal letters featuring the names of the artists, Louis Vuitton Monogram logo and its new version with Jeff Koons initials. Each item is supplemented by a pendant in the form of sculpture "Inflatable rabbit", one of the iconic works of the artist.
In addition to handbags, the collection with paintings’ prints includes clutches, scarves, wallets and trinkets that will be an excellent gift for the fanciers of Louis Vuitton art and style.
Koons is not the first artist who worked well with Louis Vuitton: the fashion house patronizes the contemporary art. The collaborations of the brand with the Japanese artist Yayi Kusama, as well as with Cindy Sherman, Olafur Eliasson and James Terrel were truly successful.
