Pattern cutting, fitting, combining entirely different materials, an extraordinary fusion of shapes and elements — all of the above can be found at Petit H fr om the day of its establishment by Pascale Mussard in 2010. The atelier has been led by creative director Godefroy de Virieu since 2018.
The creative process here starts from the opposite since it is not based on a pre-conceived idea and vision, but on the materials that were left unused in other studios. These materials provide the masters and artists with an opportunity for improvisation. At the Petit H workshops, materials are playfully modified and enhanced; they are turned into unique objects that represent a clear and loud statement, showcased in products that are the result of a complete creative process.
On March 4, the first exhibition of the unique Petit H objects opened in GUM, including, for example, a candlestick made of a shot glass and a metal turret, or an oval mirror in a leather frame net which miraculously transforms everything that the mirror reflects. The bold and dynamic geometric forms of Russian avant-garde art have given inspiration and an innovative spirit to the Hermès Boutique at GUM wh ere the amazing selection of objects from the Petit H workshop is being presented.
After visiting Moscow, in October 2020, Petit H will travel to the Hermès Boutique on Taiwan. We look forward to seeing you at GUM; the exhibition will close on March 22!
