For the eight-consecutive year, Russia’s Main Department Store will turn into a blossoming garden! More than 200 thousand flowers were grown especially for the festival. The GUM historical building is decorated inside out: there will be flower arrangements along the lines, fresh flower carpets will blossom, cachepots with begonias will decorate the façade fr om the first to the third floor.
The colors and aromas of the flowers are mind-boggling! Several hundred thousand flowers of all types have been grown exclusively for GUM on Red Square, transforming the Main Department Store of Russia into a grandiose park wh ere you will discover flowers, photo ops, and the famous GUM ice cream. The flowers can be viewed both during the day and at nighttime when GUM is fully illuminated. The festival will last until August 25. To preserve the beauty and freshness of the flowers, a special watering system is being used.
On opening day, July 15, famous actors, TV presenters, musicians, athletes served as gardeners.: Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė, Andrey Malakhov, Alexander Oleshko, Yekaterina Strizhenova, Victoria Andreyanova, Marina Zudina, Svetlana Zeynalova, Daria Poverennova, Timur Soloviev, Yurate Gurauskayte, Mikhail Grushevsky, Igor Mirkurbanov, Alexey and Galina Nemov, Konstantin and Yulia Akimov, Ivan Zhvakin, Alyona Chekhova, Daniil Fedorov, Angelina Stretchina.
